Carmilla co-creator Ellen Simpson’s The Light of the World coming in December
We are very proud to announce that Ellen Simpson, perhaps best known as one of the creators of the online webseries sensation, Carmilla, has chosen Ylva Publishing to release her new urban fantasy novel – The Light of the World, coming out on December 15.
The Light of the World is an intriguing drama about how deeply the past can affect our present.
About The Light of the World
After her beloved grandmother’s death, Eva finds the woman’s diaries and encounters a person she never knew – a young woman caught up in the magic of the Roaring Twenties who fell in love with a mysterious girl.
What happened to change her grandmother so drastically into the miserable old woman she knew and loved so fiercely today? As Eva begins to investigate the puzzle her grandmother left behind, she recruits the help of a local historian and his enigmatic assistant, Olivia.
Together they find a forgottten labyrinth underneath the city and find out her grandmother’s younger life was entwined with a legend known as the light of the world. But a mysterious stranger is also underneath the city streets, searching for answers.
The Light of the World will be available in December.
