If you like a good romance, with Jaes books you‘ll find it. Every book of her is great. I was also pleasantly surprised to find some „old friends“ in this book, Jill and Crash. Great job done, Jae!
Kitty Kat – :
‘Just For Show’ is a Fake Girlfriend story so impeccably written and with such depth of emotion that I can see me re-reading it again and again. The storytelling appears effortless and flows so well. I wish I knew Jae’s secret! She manages to write such believable and sympathetic characters that draw us into their world so completely.
Psychologist Claire is trying to get her book on relationships published and needs to convince her prospective publisher that she is madly in love with her fiancée. The problem is she has just broken up with her fiancée and needs a new one quickly. Hiring an actress to play the part seems like the solution. Lana is the complete opposite of OCD Claire and how they deal with living together and convincing others they are in love is just perfect. Of course there is a whole lot more to Claire’s OCD behaviour and to Lana’s particular issues. These are dealt with in a caring and understanding way. I almost jumped for joy at the inclusion of Jill and Crash from ‘Just Physical’ and Laleh and Hope from ‘Heart Trouble’. Yet again Jae has penned a winner and had me swooning.
I was given this ARC in return for an honest review.
Betty Harmon – :
This is a delightful story, worthy of Jae. This is a slow burn, as most of her romances are, but she keeps the reader going along as we see the romance build slowly between the two characters. Speaking of the characters, they are, as always, well-developed and the story is excellent. As with several of her stories, I enjoyed meeting some old friends.
I recommend this novel very highly. If you like the rest of Jae’s romances, you’ll love this one.
Danielle – :
Jae remains my favorite. So many delicious lines in this one. I’m waiting on a friend to finish their copy so we can talk about it without spoilers, so in the mean time I’m reading it again and it’s even better the second time.
PH – :
Jae shows once again why her stories are so enjoyable. Can Claire and Lana create the perfect couple…even if it is fake? The characters, both main and support are wonderful. They are likeable, fun, frustrating and a little OCD but most of all they are realistic!
I enjoyed reading the trial and errors of Claire’s efforts to fake a relationship to only then get caught in her own net when feelings develop and only confuse and complcates things in her ordered world. A humourous look at life and love with the added bonus of fun on the side. Definietly worth a read. I received an arc in exchange for an honest review.
Jane Shambler – :
It’s Jae….. What more is there to say? Always a good story, always good characters and always a great read. Am I biased? I don’t think so! I always tend to like Jae’s writing. She is easy to read and allows you to connect with her characters.
The story is an old one that you’ve probably seen on the big screen. Someone needing a partner urgently and advertises for one. But what makes this one better then the rest is that there is a lot of chemistry between the two leads and it is really well written.
Honestly, it is a great read and I don’t think you will be disappointed. Enjoy!

They say love cannot be bought, but can two person bounded by a fake relationship contract blur the lines between love and work arrangement enough to make it possible?
Claire Renshaw is about to get married and just as everything else in her life, she wants it perfectly organized. She’s got it all figured out, down to every little details. Claire is engaged to the beautiful Abby, a respected lawyer and has a self-help book on the way to be published. The couple therapist had everything she needed in her life, or so she thought…
What happens when her soon-to-be wife leaves her the day before the wedding, and the only thing she has left is her still unpublished book ‘’The Art of Lasting Relationship’’. Ironic, isn’t it? Even more because the only way left for her to get the book published is by entertaining a pretended relationship with a confident, curvy actress, who proudly works as a barista in between acting gigs.
Claire’s need to control everything is about to get tested once the messy Lana Henderson, far from the perfection she usually finds herself attracted to, moves in with her.
Their whole relationship is filled with deflections, well hidden under the pretense of their contract because they both don’t understand how they could feel a strong pull towards someone they least expected it!
Both characters couldn’t be more different if they tried. Can they put aside their difference long enough to make their fake relationship look genuine to the publisher or is it a disaster waiting to happen?
Sometimes love isn’t what you pictured at all, but it doesn’t mean it is not what you truly needed.
Jae is a mastermind in the art of writing fake relationships into wonderful slow-burned romance and ‘’Just for Show’’ is another great example of her talent as a writer. I recommend this one just as much as her whole collection. I am always amazed by the depth of every character that comes out of her imagination.
Once again I got lost in her universe and fell in love with each ones of the characters qualities and flaws until I couldn’t stop reading. Lana’s character was my favorite, mostly because of her down to earth personality. I feel like many readers will find themselves able to fill in her shoes.
My favorite scene of the whole book was the photo shoot. It was so well written and detailed that I can still see in my mind the pictures they took as if I was the one who took them, even if I only read about it.
If you are looking for a great quality, 300+ pages fake relationship romance, stop wasting your time and order this gem, you will not be disappointed.

Just finished Jae’s latest, “Just For Show”. Well, as expected, what a great read! No surprised there because…Jae! 🙂
You’ll love Claire & her OCD quirks (hilarious actions when she’s stressed or during…well, you’ll have to read it to find out! ;)), her obstinance, that only Lana can break through. There’s something to be said about two people who couldn’t be more different (size, shape, form, personality) from each other, who meet at the crossroads & start a journey that inadvertently open their hearts to each other.
Sometimes it takes a person who’s seemingly your polar opposite to open your eyes & mind about yourself, your life perspective & what’s truly important. The power of LOVE. And oh, remember Jill? My favourite character in the Hollywood series, “Just Physical,” makes an appearance as well as Crash. YES!
**BTW, if you haven’t read “Just Physical,” you really should, it’s brilliant! One of my favourite books, really. How Jae tackles the sensitive subject matter is what I’ll always appreciate & never forget. Brilliant love story.**
Anyway, go read Just For Show! It’s fun, pure enjoyment!

Oh My!
This is a fantastic book! I was drawn into the story from the start and stayed there. I read this book cover to cover in one sitting because I simply could not put it down. The characters were wonderful, sexy with totally different body shapes and sizes, smart, interesting and just perfect. I totally fell in love with Lana and, her lover, Claire was no slouch herself!
The book was filled with emotions, happy, sad, scared, worried, joy and lots of love and lust, yummy!, I loved the roller coaster ride the author took me on and I cannot wait to read the other book that some of the secondary characters star in.

Unlike most of my fellow lesfic readers, who have devoured almost every single one of Jae’s books, this is only the third story I’ve read by this talented author. So, while I don’t have many others to compare it to, this is without a doubt my favourite.
Both leads are awesome women. What keeps me glued to the pages of a book is being invested in at least one of the leads. Being invested in two, as was the case here, meant for a couple of late nights of reading into the wee hours of the morning.
As per the blurb, when Claire is unceremoniously dumped by her fiancée, she needs a fake fiancée to seal a book deal. The thing is, when two very different women who know next to nothing about each other, are thrust together, things are bound to go either extremely well…or not.
If you’re looking for convoluted drama, silly miscommunication, we like each other/we hate each other, push-pull conflict, you won’t find it here. And, in a nutshell, the absence of all those things made this story all the more better.
I loved the contrast of body image and size. Claire has rigid rules and is extremely thin, whereas Lana is unapologetically curvy. Again, their acceptance of each other, warts and all, okay no warts, was heart-warming.
While I could go on and on about all the things I loved about this story—I wrote about two pages of notes—I can sum it up in two words; LOVED IT!
“Just for Show” gets 5 big fat stars from me.
