The thing about anthologies is more often than not the stories within can be hit and miss. Much to my delight, Laid Bare is a hit. Or more precisely, a smorgasbord of deliciousness.
The stories are told from various point-of-views and tenses; first person, third person, present tense, past tense. For some reason a number of these story involve self-love, for want of a better word, so if you enjoy reading about ladies pleasuring themselves, you’re in for a treat. Personally, it’s something I can take or leave.
I’m not going to rehash every story but will suffice to say, my favourite story was Houseshare by AL Brooks, followed closely by 58 seconds by Harper Bliss.

I almost passed on reading this anthology, but when I saw the author list for Laid Bare, edited by Astrid Ohletz and Jae, I immediately added the book to my ‘to read’ list. With authors such as Lee Winter, Jess Lea, A. L. Brooks, Harper Bliss, Emma Weimann, KD Williamson, Alison Grey, Lola Keeley, and Jae, how could this book be anything but exceptional? I am very happy to report that I enjoyed reading every single short story in this book.
This is an anthology of erotic short stories, so you will find explicit sex in all of them, but in many of the tales, you will also find love and romance. A few of the stories have been previously published as stand-alone stories by Ylva, and several stories have characters you may recognize from some of your favorite novels. For instance, in “Flashbang”, we see Lauren and Catherine from The Red Files in a very sexy and satisfying interlude. In “Erasing the Lines” by KD Williamson, Kelli and Nora from Blurred Lines have a very steamy phone conversation while Kelli is on a stakeout with her partner, Gerald Travis in the car beside her. “It’s Getting Hot In Here” by Alison Grey also has a really hot phone conversation with the characters from her novella Hot Line, and Jae gives us a beautiful story with Jill and Crash, the characters from her novel Just Physical.
Even the stories with brand new characters and situations are excellently written and well worth getting this anthology. If you love great stories with lots of love, romance, and sizzling sex, then you will want this book.
I received an ARC from Ylva Publishing for an honest review.

A great collection of erotic short stories by authors such Jae and Lee Winter. Well written and provided an introduction to authors new to me and on the other hand, revisit and catch up with characters from books read in the past.
I received an arc in exchange for an honest review.

A FANTASTIC ANTHOLOGY!!
This amazing and super sexy book contains lovely short stories by nine of Ylva’s best authors. Jae, Lee Winter, Harper Bliss, Lola Keeley, Alison Grey, Emma Weimann, AL Brooks, KD Williamson, Jess Lea are all featured here. I loved everything about this volume. The stories were hot, of course, and really well written. There was not a bad or boring one in the bunch and I honestly couldn’t pick a favourite! This not safe for public reading tome is perfect. If you know these authors, you already know how good it will be and if any of them are new to you, this is a perfect introduction. I cannot recommend this book strongly enough as it is one of my all-time go to tales!
